Democracy has spoken. She made it with respect, with 34 voices apart, a breath, but a sufficient breath.

First of all, I would like to thank warmly all those who gave me their confidence in these municipal elections, as well as all those who, throughout these six years, supported and encouraged me. You were my engine.

For six years, I served this commune with everything I had: my time, my energy, my convictions. I always wanted to be the mayor of all, to act in the general interest, without ever giving in to logics of favours or divisions. That's how I see public service, and I don't regret anything.

I'm proud to leave a town hall with healthy finances. It is a precious asset, often invisible, but fundamental to the future. I am also proud to have engaged our village in ambitious programs — « Small Cities of Tomorrow » and « City Centre-Bourg » — which open up real and concrete prospects for the heart of our community. Today, everything becomes possible for our city centre. It's a nice page that opens.

I would also like to express my deep gratitude to all those I had the chance to meet during this term: the municipal staff, without whom nothing would have been possible, the agents and representatives of the State, the elected representatives of the neighbouring communes, the department and the region, as well as all the people I have asked for over the past six years. You have all contributed, in your own way, to advancing our village.

A special thought goes to my municipal team, faithful and committed. What we did together, we did with heart.

Today I turn a page with serenity. It's time for me to find what matters most: my children, my grandchildren, my wife, my friends. Life, in what it has most precious.

I wish you all, above all, health — For this is indeed the essential, the real treasure of an existence.
